This area is a train lover’s dream. It has one of the highest concentrations or railroad tracks and trains in America. Dozens of trains and thousands of rail cars pass through here every single day. The region features one of the largest train yards in the world and one of the few operational roundhouses in the country. It is also one of the few places left in the U.S. where you can still see an operating caboose. There’s also the Dingess Tunnel - a former railroad tunnel with a haunted past that you can drive through. Plus there are lots of train depots, trestles and tunnels to see.
